Post subject: 4.14.0-9.slh.1-aptosid-amd64 brakes samba shares  PostPosted: 30.12.2017, 19:37

I restarted my machine today and some shares couldn't be accessed with the newest kernel. I couldn't even with

samba //localhost/sharename

it was telling me something about NT_BAD_NAME

The curious thing is that some shares worked, and others didn't. The shares that didn't work are physically connected to a sata enclosure, while the shares in a harddrive inside the cpu case worked.

I tried modifying the smb.conf file by changing the case of the name, changing to short, and long names. Making sure the path were correct, etc.

Rebooting to 4.13.0-1.slh.1-aptosid-amd64 makes samba work as before.
