In preparation for the impending Thanatos release, the art team is proud to announce the immediate availability of the Official Thanatos Release T-Shirts!

Current situation:
The aptosid manual is available in 14 languages and all except 4 languages have a translation rate above 95%. This is a fabulous effort by the translation team!

Just in time for the holidays, we've added two new t-shirts and a bunch of fun new hardware to the Aptosid Art Shop!

When aptosid is released, a new set of iso files hit the mirrors making available the latest entry point to the rolling aptosid cycle. The first step is to boot up the system shipped in those iso files and there are numerous ways to do this. I am going to run through the main options with a brief explanation of why and how you might want to use each method. Much of this is covered in the aptosid manual. Some information is new though and not yet covered there while other sections are a more unusual and may never be covered there.

    A bit late due to a certain amount of mandatory "international travel", but the art team is proud to announce the immediate availability of the Official Geras Release T-Shirts!

Long time forum member ayla who (if I may paraphrase) is tired of looking at his old sidux mug with the "sidux" crossed out and "aptosid" written in above it. So by request, the Aptosid Art Team is proud to announce the opening of a new section in the CafePress shop: Official Aptosid Hardware. The first items in the shop are mugs and steins, so you may now enjoy your favourite drugs (caffeine and beer) while hanging out with Fred and showing off your love of Aptosid! All hardware has been fully tested for compatibility with the latest release ;).

It is requests like this that drive innovation and progress. If there's something you'd like, just ask. We'll make it happen!

I'd like to introduce and extend a warm welcome to our new Forum Moderators...

During the down time of the sidux <-> aptosid transition, we were extremely busy making sure that all the technical pieces were solid, so there was not enough time for us to spend collaborating on the creation of the "aptosid brand".

Fortunately, this means we can do something a little bit different for the branding development process this time, and put a call out to the community for interested members to come forward and volunteer their time as part of a "Working Group" to fully develop the "aptosid brand"...

The word censorship policy in place on the old sidux forums certainly generated some lively discussion. It came up quite frequently as a point of contention, so we put our approach under the spotlight over the last few weeks, and I have just implemented the new word replacement mechanism for dealing with "legally grey" forum content...

As it seems that the variation in approaches by the mirrors has led to a little confusion click the link to read more for the simple way to do the seamless upgrade from sidux to aptosid.

I threw the idea at detaos a short while ago about having an aptosid T-Shirt design up for day 1, then we could open a thread for people to post their own photos of them launching aptosid with it around the world. Share the artwork and they can print their own to get one super quick if they want.   I did and got a fun little story to go with my photo of the first aptosid t-shirt at launch time today.
