Post subject: Missing /etc/apt/sources.list.d/aptosid.list  PostPosted: 15.09.2010, 17:35

A bug has been found in the installer, which accidentally removes /etc/apt/sources.list.d/aptosid.list if adding non-free Firmwares gets selected. Not selecting this option avoids this bug and allows adapting /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian.list afterwards, in order to install firmware or other non-free packages.

Thanks to ghstryder for reporting this issue.

If someone gets bit by this bug, so all they can do is recreate it right? Perhaps the lines that have to be pasted in to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/aptosid.list should be put somewhere in the manual?

Maybe something similar in my sidux-aptosid upgraded machine. It failed du for a couple of days prior, complained possible about a bad metafile from vienna/contrib/binary-i386/packages. Dunno if this would be the spot, but fixed by info from a true aptosid ISO-USB intstall. Now my aptosid.list looks like this;
deb http://aptosid.com/debian/ sid main fix.main
#deb-src http://aptosid.com/debian/ sid main fix.main
## Manual Edit - above from ISO-fll/cow/etc/apt/sources.lists.d/aptosid.list
## - below from sidux-aptosid du
##deb http://aptosid.office-vienna.at/aptosid/debian/ sid main fix.main
##deb http://aptosid.office-vienna.at/aptosid/debian/ sid contrib
##deb http://aptosid.office-vienna.at/aptosid/debian/ sid non-free
#deb-src http://aptosid.office-vienna.at/aptosid/debian/ sid main fix.main

Also seeing (other than debian.list), a sidux-dpkg.list. Perhaps this should be removed, or should I hang on to it?
