          | Hi Guys,
i have made yesterday a fresh install of aptosid, but unfortunally when i do apt-get dist-upgrade the process is blocked because doen't found a proper version of libg....

If this distro is not update to a new version is impossible to use...

 how can i solve it?

 thanks

          | Unfortunately, as far as I know, you can't do a fresh install of aptosid at this moment. There have been some threads about it, but as far as I know, it just doesn't work. |

          | I have aptosid running on my computer for some years now - everything is fine (apart from some fiddling now and then, but I have learned a lot over this...).
Now, I want a second computer run the same OS - however, it seems to be hard to do a fresh install of aptosid, as the latest install media is veeerryyyy old.
As mentioned in the previous post, siduction is very similar, so it can suit as an alternative to aptosid - and it supports installation from scratch!
So I'd go for siduction on my second machine.

As I would like to have both machines running the same OS, I asked myself if it was possible to migrate the aptosid machine to run siduction - by exchanging apt's sources.lst???

Did anyone try this out? What do the maintainers think (I think some of them do support for both OS's)?

Thank you for any helpful feedback!

          | I am not sure about your questions. But I think there is no need to worry about two different OSs, as they are basically Debian Sid. I've been doing it for a while and don't find it difficult at all. (Possible upgrade problems are the same for both.) They just look a bit different... |
