Hi there,
wanted today to burn 1 DVD ...but:
k3b says: "no optical drive found"
??
my output:
ls -la /dev/sr*
brw-rw----+ 1 root cdrom 11, 0 Dez 22 23:14 /dev/sr0
root@aptosidbox:/home/linux# dmesg | grep DVD
[ 1.270574] ata1.01: ATAPI: HL-DT-STDVD-RAM GSA-H55L, 1.05, max UDMA/66
[ 1.279369] scsi 0:0:1:0: CD-ROM HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55L 1.05 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5

udisks2 would have been installed as part of the KDE 4.10 transition (KDE 4.8 still used udisks) through kde-plasma-desktop (and this package has been part of every KDE4 based aptosid release), of which udisks2 is a hard reverse dependency.
If you explicitly removed the kde-plasma-desktop meta package, thereby preventing it from pulling in udisks2… C'est la vie, you get to keep both pieces.
In other words, yes, every KDE based aptosid installation should have udisks2 installed automatically, without any user intervention. |

Could "kde-plasma-desktop" or so, take an effect to my other prob:

Hi, I installed udisks2 - but to no avail. K3B keeps telling me I should insert a DVD when trying to burn an iso-file.
And yes, I did insert an empty DVD. |
