no driver seems to feel responsible for the soundcard.
i tried any kernel since then, all showed the same result.

seems there happened something quite strange on d-u of one of the previous kernels. i am astonished to see snd-ioctl32 here, as i am using amd64 since ever on this machine. i tried to boot with acpi=off too, no change in behaviour. I also tried an USB-Soundcard, it was not recognized. On another machine the USB-Soundcard is recognized at once. So i think a reinstall of Aptosid will be the best??? This would be the first time for me that your great rolling release upgrades would run into a bad end.
Cheers |

One vital, yet missing, piece of information would be the last known-working kernel (and does it still work, when you boot back into that one); that said, we really aren't that much interested in problems with packages from experimental (especially in this case it does matter - a lot). |

oh xcuse me, that i'am interested in vdpau and things..... I know its a waste of your precious time, i think your kernels are real great, so again excuse me asking someone for something.
last known good had been 3.2-6.slh.1, i did a d-u to 3.2-6.slh.3 then sound stopped. I did like always... waiting the installation of some of the following kernels and hoping that stuff becomes better.
It didn't, so i thought about asking a little bit......
Think it will be faster to reinstall than to investigate what happened. I will wait if you are interested to investigate some more, as i can do the stuff that needs sound on another machine.
Thanks for your help |
