Hi,
I’m quite new to aptosid and I was looking for a tutorial explaining how to improve font rendering. I know that a few patches need to be installed, but a step-by-step tutorial would be appreciated.

Nothing needs to be patched, the bytecode interpreter is enabled by default.
As root:
Code:
dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config
Play with the settings.

Thanks! It worked.
I just had another question. If I want to install aptosid on my other pc and my home directory is formatted with the btrfs, is it possible to install it whithout having to convert back my partition to ext4 ? If so, how ?

| We don't support btrfs at this stage (which doesn't mean it can't be made working) and strongly recommend against it for now. |

Perhaps the same font and size would help give you a more accurate comparison?

This font looks nice and sharp on my old Thinkpad's LCD and on my desktop's wide LCD  |
