camera:/ protocol works with Konqueror but not with Dolphin

Typing "camera:/" in Dolphin gives "Invalid protocol" but it gives access to the camera and its photos in Konqueror, with a PTP camera.

If I try to copy and paste a picture from Konqueror into Dolphin, it fails and Dolphin reports "Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'camera'" although this works fine between Konqueror tabs.

dolphin has meanwhile been ported over to qt5, while konqueror is essentially dead and stuck on qt4. The problem now is that qt4 applications can only use kde4 based kio-slaves, while qt5 applications have only access to KDE5 based kio-slaves - depending on which package ships the kio-slave providing support for a camera:// protocol, it may only be available for one subset of packages, but not the other. Sometimes a qt5 based equivalent already exists (but needs to be installed explicitly), sometimes it hasn't been ported yet.

Thanks. So Konqueror can be helpful in the meantime. It's also great as a Man page viewer, Dolphin uses it for that as well with the man: protocol. Gwenview-import seems long gone, but at least Digikam and other apps are available to import photos.

The camera:/ protocol works again in Dolphin.
