brought back my login screen. No other suggestion I had found in the last two weeks did anything to help.
After my dist-upgrade, startx would fail to start with a message:

xf86EnableIOPorts: failed to set IOPL for I/O (operation not permitted)
and the fix suggested by maxxedout worked. I'm typing all this here so someone else with a similar Plasma 5 transition headache might be led here by a web search. |
