Post subject: Plasma 5 - Konqueror missing file browsing functionality

Generally I have no issues with Plasma 5.
However noticed that Konqueror has lost its file browser functionality somewhere on the way.
File->open location does nothing.
If I paste file:///home/manul (or any other directory) in the address bar; it either opens it with external Dolphin; or, if explicitly application/inode filetype first priority is assigned to Konqueror (in settings) then there is an error popup

There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated Konqueror with inode/directory, but it cannot handle this file type.
I can still see directory structure in the sidebar - however not its content in the main window.
Is this normal/expected?
Or, have I lost some package somewhere on the way (kio or whatever).
Trying to google the issue did not bring anything useful (just few articles from several years ago).
Cleared KDE cache etc it did not help either.

Dolphin (poor substitute for konqueror) crashes and crashes... |

Maybe Im blind but I do not have such thing as "viewmode" in my current Konqueror... Where is this? In settings? Some button in toolbars?
Nope, I can't find it?
Packages are same versions - so maybe there is no kio in the package name I am missing..
That said, I also do not have testing im my repos.
I think it is a similar thread here http://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=5798 but I am not sure I do not know german and google translate seems there is no solution, one has to wait?
P.S. Added a screenshot of what my Konqueror file management profile looks like ("View" menu opened). |

| It is available at View -> View Mode -> File Size View after you select a folder to view. But, it does not give me a tree for file management either, simply get a k4dirstat sort of view. |

Thanks.
It is due to the package konq-plugins I did not have installed before (it is just suggested, not a hard dependency).
Now that I installed konq-plugins, I have the same "k4dirstat sort of view" as you.
Apart of this, in view mode I also have "terminal emulator" view option (seems nothing more than a normal konsole instance within the Konq window).
And... Now what? Is this supposed to be the "file management" functionality?
Or, there is no usual file management in Konq anymore, only this k4dirstat stuff instead? |
