Dear all,
I sometimes have to make screencasts for lectures for my students. I've tested many different packages and so far Kazam seems to work the best. (Now I am also trying to follow these instructions: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1392026, which seems to be a good idea.)
My problem is that it saves to MP4. The video editor I've more used to is avidemux (from the infamous French repository, so the "Dragons..." sub-forum), but it has problems with the encoder (h.264): first, when opening the file, I get:
Code:
H.264 detected
If the file is using B-frames as reference it can lead to a crash or stuttering.
Avidemux can use another mode which is safe but YOU WILL LOSE FRAME ACCURACY.
Do you want to use that mode?
But then, whether I chose Yes or No, most of the time I get the error:
Code:
KeyFrame error
The beginning frame is not a key frame.
Please move the A marker.
All I need is cutting and merging files (pasting/inserting a new file), nothing fancy. I've tried a few different editors (like Lives, KDEnlive, pitivi...), but they either have a problem importing the file or I could not figure out how to accurately cut and insert files. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Best to all,
Luis |
