          | my hdd was near full:92%
 so I looked weeks - why ...

 now:
 icedove

 inbox
 sent
 trash

if you empty each message manual/by hand: it is empty.

 But: hdd still full: 92%

BUT: if you right-click on "trash" :
 you get "empty trash"
you will be asked: on "empty trash"
"Are you sure you want to permanently delete all messages...bla bla"

 and click: OK

so my 3-mail-accounts are now trash-empty:

 ! 85% hdd space available !

whow ! trash since 2 or 3 years ... crazy.

          | Don't forget to compact the trash (right click on trash - compact) |

          | For me compacting the Inbox is usually the big one. |
