| Most likely it'll be 4.8.4 that will get packaged first as this version was the one expected to be in Squeeze by the time it's frozen (if all goes as planned though) |

| for try to compile kde 4.8 on aptosid i need to download only the kde source on the official site of kde, right? |

Also there are build instructions too so follow them carefully. Best to do this on a test install so as not to b0rk your main install in case something goes wrong |

before kde4.8 enters debian, we might have qt4.8 with multiarch. Will this happen before June? we'll see... i moved to arch (even if i dream apt and debian's policies)
Looks like Qt 4.8 will be done first then KDE 4.8.x will follow 
I have an Arch install that has 4.8.2 but there are some bugs that I hope are ironed out by KDE SC 4.8.4 that debian hopes to ship in time for the expected June freeze for Wheezy (provided there are no blockers) |

| Installed KDE 4.8.3 from http://qt-kde.debian.net/debian/ experimental-snapshots approx. 2 hours ago . No problems. As I don't normally accept a new kdmrc I didn't have any config. problems. |
